2 in 1: Treatment & Prevention

Athlete's foot impacts up to 70% of the population in their lifetime1 — and once you’ve had it, it’s prone to coming back.2 It’s common and uncomfortable — especially when feet remain warm and damp or treatment is stopped too soon. It rarely goes away on its own.

What Is Athlete's Foot?

Athlete’s Foot is a Fungal Infection That Thrives on Warm, Damp Feet & Surfaces

Athlete's foot (tinea pedis) is a fungal skin infection, usually starting between the toes before it spreads to the sole or sides of the foot. The fungi responsible — dermatophytes — feed on keratin, the protein in skin, hair, and nails, and multiply fastest in warm, moist environments: sweaty sneakers, locker room floors, communal showers, pool decks and feet.

Common symptoms include:

  • Itching, stinging, or burning between the toes or on the soles
  • Cracked, peeling, or flaking skin
  • Redness, irritation
  • A persistent, hard-to-shake foot odor

What causes it, in plain terms: direct contact with the fungus (skin-to-skin, or via a contaminated surface) plus a warm, damp environment for it to grow. That combination is exactly what gym floors, locker rooms, shared floor mats, hiking boots and athletic shoes provide — which is why it's so common among active people, though anyone can get it.

Comparison to Similar Conditions

Athlete's Foot vs. Similar Conditions

Athlete's Foot

Fungal infection, typically starting between the toes. Itching, burning, peeling, and odor. Spreads via contact with contaminated surfaces or direct skin contact.

Dry Skin / Eczema

Non-fungal; often flakier and less contagious, without the same between-the-toe pattern. Usually responds to steroids, biologic medicines, moisturizers, but not antifungals.

Jock Itch & Ringworm

Caused by the same family of fungus as athlete's foot, just on different skin — the groin for jock itch, the body for ringworm.

How Dryello Treats It

Dryello is Powered By Tolnaftate 1%. Clinically Proven to Treat. Helps Prevent Recurrence with Daily Use.

Most athlete’s foot treatments fail for a boring reason: people stop using them. Creams are messy, sprays miss the spot, and powders make a mess of the floor — so people quit before the fungus does.

Dryello contains tolnaftate 1%, an antifungal active ingredient for over-the-counter use, in a dry stick that glides on smoothly. No cloudy mess, no drips — which means no excuse to skip an application.
