The backstory
Dr. Carl Schanbacher has spent over 25 years as a board-certified dermatologist, treating every kind of skin infection there is. Athlete’s foot kept showing up with the same problem: the treatments were as annoying as the condition.
Creams left residue. Sprays missed the spot. Powders made a mess. Patients quit before the fungus did. Dr. Carl figured there had to be a smarter way to treat and prevent athlete’s foot.
The lightbulb
The idea clicked while Dr. Carl was watching his sons windsurf off Maui. A whale surfaced nearby, and it hit him:
